ECG SERVES YILO KROBO DISTRICT HOSPITAL A DISCONNECTION NOTICE

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) on Thursday, the 22nd of February 2024 had served the Yilo Krobo District Hospital with a disconnection notice,
and failure to comply by the hospital, the ECG may have to disconnect power supply to the hospital.
According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of ECG, Tema Region, Madam Sakyiwa Mensah who spoke to Rite FM 90.1,a local Radio station in the Yilo Krobo Municipality,
the Yilo Krobo District Hospital owes ECG bills amounting to One Million Three Eighty Nine Thousand, Nine Hundred and Fifty Five Cedis, Forty pesewas
(Ghc1, 389,955.40) and did not make any payment since April 2022.
However, when the disconnection notice came to the attention of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Eric Tetteh who at the time was at a
crucial Assembly meeting to elect a Presiding Member (PM) for the newly inaugurated Yilo Krobo Assembly after earlier two failed attempts to elect PM,
he left the meeting on the quiet for the Hospital and engagement
with him upon his return indicated that the MCE had made some intervention by speaking to some higher authorities to ensure that the hospital’s power supply
was not interrupted to affect its operation as the issue of payment of the said outstanding Bills is addressed.
The disconnection notice however according to the PRO of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) was part of ECG’s current ongoing revenue mobilization program.
