Yilo Krobo MCE visits BECE Centres

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Yilo Krobo Municipality,
Hon. Eric Tetteh accompanied by some staff of the Municipal Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) visited
examination centers within the Municipality consequent upon the commencement of this year’s
Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) on Monday, 17th October 2022.
The purpose of the visit was to access the condition under which the candidates were taking their
examinations and also to offer words of encouragement to them. Hon. Eric Tetteh therefore advised the candidates
to abide by all rules and regulations and to desist from any sort of examination malpractices in order not to jeopardize their future.
The MCE also admired the gallant and resilient efforts put up by the candidates as they engaged in their final examinations.
In addressing the candidates, Hon. Eric Tetteh also commended the hard working teachers who prepared the
candidates for their examinations and urged them to continue with their dedicated services of ensuring that the
children entrusted to them exploited their outmost potentials.
The MCE concluded by encouraging all the candidates to give out their very best so as to benefit from
the Free Senior High School policy introduced by the government and assured them of his support in their future endeavors.
This year’s BECE examination conducted at nine (9) centres across the Municipality according
to Mr. Solomon Sackitey (the Public Relations Officer of the Municipal Education Directorate) involved a total number of 2,219 candidates comprising 1,114 male candidates and 1,105 female candidates from seventy-five (75) schools made up of fifty-three (53) public schools and twenty-two (22) private schools.
Some of the exams centres visited include Oterkpolu Presby Basic, Obawale Anglican Basic, Klo-Agogo SHS and Opersika M/A JHS.
